Are you a beginner in this sport?

This is a service that will undoubtedly help you avoid injuries and enjoy your bike more!

A biomechanical assessment is a matter of health. And health is a cross-cutting issue for all practitioners of the sport, from the most experienced to the beginners.

We have an image showing an example of a beginner athlete who sought our help, not only to help him pedal in a safer, more comfortable and consequently more profitable position, but also to help him solve a problem in his left knee.

O resultado final foi 100% eficaz, desaparecendo a dor do joelho, passando a pedalar com maior segurança, comodidade e de uma forma mais rentável.

Numbness in the hands (part 2#)

Numbness occurs due to excessive pressure in the center of the hand, the area where the median nerve passes, which is connected to the fingers, resulting in them becoming numb.

Este tipo de problema deriva do mau ajuste da bicicleta ao ciclista. But it can also be caused by postural correction of the hand on the handlebars or even by physical problems.

Buy some new shoes

What do you see in the image?

Compare the width of the foot to the width of the shoe.

É evidente que este sapato não é o mais indicado para o atleta, não pelo tamanho do sapato no seu comprimento, mas sim pela sua largura.

There are shoes with a narrower shape and others with a wider shape.

When choosing shoes, in addition to the length, you should also consider the width of your foot.
If you have a narrower foot, you should choose a shoe with a narrow fit; if you have a wider foot, you should opt for shoes with a wider fit.

This way you’ll avoid a lot of unnecessary foot pain!

Who is biomechanical assessment intended for?

Biomechanical assessment is sometimes interpreted as something necessary, but only for specific cases. But that’s a misconception.
Biomechanical assessment is a necessary service for all people and bicycles.

– Professional, amateur, or recreational cyclists;
– Cyclists of all ages;
– For those who own bicycles worth €1,000 or €10,000;

The goal of biomechanical assessment is to allow you to enjoy the sports you love in a healthy way, with greater comfort and safety. This set of improvements will give you another predisposition for cycling, which will also be reflected in your performance.

I feel uncomfortable on a road bike, but on a mountain bike I feel “good”!

We hear this kind of statement quite often… What’s wrong with it!

A large percentage of cyclists feel “comfortable” on a mountain bike, but this is a misconception, as the riding position on a mountain bike is very inconsistent due to variations in terrain.
This causes any discomfort they feel to be masked as they change positions.
However, the poor alignment of the bicycle with the cyclist remains a problem.

On road bikes, they feel discomfort more easily because the position is more constant. Thus, discomfort manifests itself more easily through pressure in the saddle area (perineum); numbness in the hands or feet; pressure in the arms, shoulders and consequently in the cervical region; back pain (lower back and latissimus dorsi); etc…

If you analyze it, you’ll also feel some of these discomforts on a mountain bike, but these problems on a mountain bike are “camouflaged” because the position is very inconsistent.

Numbness in the hands! (part #1)

Have you ever experienced a slight pressure starting in the corner of your hand, which gradually increases until you notice a slight numbness, which then spreads and increases to your little and ring fingers?

This is due to the depression being exerted on the ulnar nerve, which is connected to the little and ring fingers, thus causing numbness in the corner of the hand and consequently in the respective fingers.

This is the most common type of hand numbness among cyclists, but there are different types of hand numbness!

In a large percentage of cases it is related to how well the bicycle fits the cyclist,
in a minority of cases it will be a matter of postural correction or physical problems.

Whether or not to hold the exams is still an uncertain issue.

Although holding races is still an uncertain topic, in any case, for those of you who participate in races with a competitive purpose and the goal of achieving sporting results, you shouldn’t let your motivation wane. Because if you want to evolve, it’s through training that you give continuity to that evolution. Otherwise, instead of evolving, you will regress. Because evolution is a continuous process.
